Projects: Church & Community
To design a landmark building which could be seen from the road and have a ‘civic’ presence but not look like a church. The design should be welcoming with lots of glass and with views from the building.
A glazed ‘welcoming’ entrance, pews replaced with light-weight and stackable chairs to provide a modern flexible multipurpose worship space.
A design which reflects Bridge Community Church’s mission: a building which is open and accessible to the community. Architecture which is honest and contemporary.
Stabilisation of the two east gable pinnacles together with repointing to the east gable, reglazing to the west window including adjacent masonry repairs and renovated rainwater goods to the whole building.
Byrom Clark Roberts have been involved in repairs & restoration works to St Lawrence Church since 1996.
A flexible space that retains the special significance of the listed building, but also incorporates the functionality needed by the Church.
